Don't get too stressed and you'll be fine. The minute you start getting stressed your brain shuts down and your in worse shape than before...
Tell Kathryn that she should go with her first instinct. She is one smart chick and the information is probably in her brain already. Don't cram with last minute studying because then the most recent thing studied is the only thing you can come up with. Get a good night's sleep and keep hydrated. Don't drink so much water that you have to pee during the exam though!
Did you know that the "finals" in Britain when Uncle Mike was in school were not done at the end of the semester? Instead you have final exams at the end of a whole year and then one big test at the end of your schooling that covered material from the past few years. Those exams determined whether or not you would be getting into college. It kind of makes a trimester exam look a little less intimidating.
